Content warning: this post reports on dehumanizing language directed at trans people.

Angela Stanton King, a promoter(link is external) of QAnon conspiracy theories(link is external) and anti-LGBTQ bigotry, is scheduled(link is external) to speak at the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference on a Sunday afternoon panel shortly before former President Donald Trump speaks. Stanton King spoke(link is external) at a “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington, D.C. the night before the Capitol insurrection, where she praised Trump for standing up to demons and told the crowd Trump could still win because “God makes miraculous things happen.”

Stanton King is scheduled to be on a panel with other “new voices(link is external).” One of them, Young Pharaoh, was reportedly disinvited(link is external) from CPAC on Monday after Media Matters reported on anti-Semitic statements(link is external) he has made.

Stanton King was pardoned(link is external) last March by Trump over a conviction related to her involvement with a car-theft ring. She ran for Congress later that year, declaring in July, “God sent me(link is external).” She also tweeted that month that she would be Kanye West’s running mate in 2024(link is external). Last August, she took a bigoted swipe(link is external) at Kamala Harris’ husband, family, and heritage.

In the November general election, running as the GOP nominee, Stanton King drew about 15 percent(link is external) in the Georgia congressional district that was represented by the late civil rights icon John Lewis. (When Lewis died during she summer, she tweeted(link is external), “Pass the torch, don’t die with it in your hand.”)

Like her godmother, religious-right activist Alveda King, Stanton King is vehemently anti-choice. Last week Stanton King tweeted(link is external), “With the way they’re pushing the Covid Vaccine and Abortion on the Black Community you can’t pay me a million dollars to believe for one second that it’s NOT population control!”

And she is stridently anti-LGBTQ(link is external). Last week she went on a diatribe involving her own child, tweeting(link is external), “Thinking about how I fought for my son & sacrificed to raise him. While his Dad was rotting in prison. Just for him to grow up and decide he wants to be a woman.”

“The enemy put his hands on the wrong seed,” she said in a separate tweet(link is external). “This is war.”

“Does anyone consider the parents?” she asked in another(link is external). “These predators want my son to believe that I don’t love him if I won’t accept him as a woman. How f*cking dare you!!!”
